Steve is one of the most in demand session drummers in the world, and this is why. His sense of time is impeccible and his chops are as solid as they come. One of the very best there is.

The funk begins and ends with Steve Ferrone.
Pocketmaster period. Check out all of Chaka Khan's early records 1978-1982. He did all of those records, and didn't share any credit until her 1984 album, and that was with a drum machine! Drum solos are great, but what
is going to keep live drummers being used is groove, pocket, feel, and time. Bottom line.

This is Buddy Rich like mastery of a drum kit. I love you Steve!

Steve has a killer groove. Always had. Tasty is such an understatement. If I were half the musician that he was, I'd be completely satisfied.

Yea, you're right about it. I love his style, because he knows what to do in a band and at the stage. And I completely agree with Korn11.
