DAMN RIGHT! Amused to death belongs as a true Floyd album, unlike MLOR and Bell!

If the only "arty" part about music was words and lyrics, instead of listening to music you can just read poems. I think the music itself is the artiest part. The lyrics(or the mening of the lyrics) isent that important in my opinion. More important is the words, or combination of words. I think that a good song can be totally ruined if it cointains the "wrong" words, but if the "right", or good words is used it just adds another dimention to the song, it dosent make the song.

paltadase, I am an artist/painter. And I agree with your observation about music and art. I have stated many times, musicians are artists who paint and sculpt with words and lyrics. I wish I could put into words what I try to paint!

Floyd albums post Waters did not "move" forward. There are the famous stories about how DGs Floyd had to re record them as they were not Floyd enough "a poor copy". The Gilmour PF albums have never achieved that classic status that Floyd with RW did. I am sure this is not a coincidence- Waters was the key to Floyd and his feel runs right thru from DSothM, The wall, The F,Cut and course in Amused to Death. Its very evidently missing from OnanIsland.Go on,give Waters the credit he deserves !

have you looked at the stats for on an island and its' live versions? "isnt much at all" is a bit of a lie.

How is waters music advanced? youre giving waters too much credit. He was not Floyd alone. if you cant recall there were four members, five if you include syd. he obviously was a big force there but he was not floyd. if you listen to their solo work its easy to tell that. its just ridiculous to involve yourself in their problems and choose sides as it seems you have done.
