You are right! The value of the dollar continues to go down. This year was the worse Christmas for me. I wasn't able to buy myself anything because of bills and i don't even heve a credit card. It is just basic necessities such as rent,car payment, utilities, child college tuition etc. It was never like this!

Yeah, I think things will get much worse. There's a correction in the market that needs to happen and prolonging it will only magnify the problem and unless they allow interest rates to rise, lead to hyperinflation.

This year, 2009, shall be an interesting one. I think people are expecting too much from Mr. Obama. However, I hope he does well. I have my doubts though.

Deflation can only happen when there is less money in circulation. Right now, even though the banks are hoarding cash we are actually going thru inflation b/c the fed is printing money to offset this.

it's true that it is so international im duch and i saw on tv a documentery about what could happen if the dollar fell, if the dollar falls it will take most of the world with it thats why places like asia keep lending(donating) billions of dollars.

I was responding to how the Fed creates money, and the way they create it is with a printing press. Every dollar printed makes your dollar lose value. With all these bailouts, this could cause hyperinflation, because the taxpayer is not going to be directly punished for this. It will be a burden though with the regressive tax known as inflation.
