You can't say that for sure that slavery would have ended in the south without the Civil War. I think you give southerners too much credit. Maybe there would have been economic sanctions on the south or something. A refusal of their slave goods for trade might have helped.

skidro666, we went to war with Germany because they were at war with our friends. A war they started. And slavery would have died out in the South even without the Civil War. It happened in all the other developed countries.
