EDWIN MOSES WINS THE GOLD MEDAL - 1976 OLYMPIC GAMES IN MONTREAL, CANADA Edwin Corley Moses (born 31 August 1955) is an American track and field Olympic Icon who won gold medals in the 400-meter hurdles at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics. Between 1977 and 1987, in what is now renown as "The Streak", Edwin Moses won 107 consecutive finals (122 consecutive races) and set the world record, breaking his own record four times. A record that still has not been broken. In addition to his running, Moses was also an innovative reformer in the areas of Olympic eligibility and drug testing. In 2000, he was elected the first Chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy, a position he still holds. Laureus is an international organization of world class athletes who use sports as a tool for social change. In his position with Laureus, Moses is a Global Ambassador committed to making the world a better place for children around the planet, through his involvement in the Laureus Sports For Good Foundation.
